ヒルサイドウエストは代官山インスタレーションの始まった1999年の前年に竣工し、いわばインスタレーションの歴史とともにあるといってよい。これまで様々な作品が設置され、旧山手通りを往来する人々を魅了してきたが、第６回展を迎える今回は、敷地内の公募スポットを特定せず、応募者自身が場所を選定するという方式をとる。

Hillside West was accomplished one year before the first exhibition of Daikanyama Installation. Since then, Hillside West has witnessed many artworks which took advantage of this unique building. In Daikanyama Installation 2009, the participants can propose a site and an installation plan suited to this specific site.
