西郷山公園は、西郷隆盛の弟、西郷従道の屋敷跡が公園になったもので、広々とした芝生で日なたぼっこをする人、犬の散歩に訪れる人などで賑わっている。この土地は武蔵野台地の一部でなだらかな起伏がある。斜面西側に向かって眺望が開け、天気のよい日には富士山を眺めることもできる。

Saigoyama Park was formerly the estate grounds of the late Judo Saigo, the younger brother of the renowned statesman of the 1800’s, Takamori Saigo. Many people flock here. Some find a comfortable spot to lay and sunbathe and others come to walk their dog. It is located in the Musashino Plains and has a gentle slope. On the west side of the slope, the view is far-reaching and on a clear day, one could even see Mt. Fuji.

Area: The lawns excluding the area surrounding trees and brushes.
Restrictions: Maximum depth of any object(s) to be laid underground shall be 50cm, as not to damage electricity, water and sewer systems.
