Born in Takada City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan in 1946
Graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music

Organized exhibitions and events on grass-roots level throughout Japan, including gAntonio Gaudih, the exhibition which traveled to 13 cities in 1978-79 and heralded the eboomf of Gaudi in Japan, gPrints Show for Childrenh, which traveled to 77 schools and gApartheid Non ! International Art Festivalh, which traveled to 194 places and attracted 380,000 visitors.
His activities cover a wide range from publication, music production, curation, public art direction for cities, architecture and town building to art criticism.
His major public art projects include gFaret Tachikawah, gKyoto Station Billboadrs Projecth,gSapporo Domehand
gKushiro Civic Coreh.
His foothold gHillside Terraceh was awarded gMessenat Grand Prize ’98h for its urban-based cultural activities.
General Coordinator for Echigo-Tsumari Art Necklace Project since 1997 and General Coordinator for
gEchigo-Tsumari Art Triennial 2000h.
He has acted as the Secretary General for the EU-Japan joint project gNew Trends of Architecture in Europe and Japanh since 2001.
